In Absinthe Mixology, the classic French ritual involves placing a sugar cube on a flat perforated spoon that rests on the rim of the glass that contains a measure or “dose” of absinthe. Iced water is then slowly dripped onto the sugar cube. The sugar cube then gradually dissolves and drips, combined with the water, into the absinthe, causing the green liquor to louche (“loosh”) into an opaque white as the essential oils precipitate out of the alcoholic solution.
Each wrapped pack contains 2 sugar cubes (that measure a little over 1/2 of an inch in width) and are sold in a package of 20 packets (40 cubes). These sugar cubes are highly recommended when perfecting the art of Absinthe Mixology.
